Prevention education is at the heart of our efforts.

Our programs promote awareness of and aim to prevent:

  • Substance (alcohol and drug) abuse
  • Gambling addiction
  • Suicide (link to Suicide Prevention)

Examples of our prevention programs are as follows:

  • Circles of Hope (youth suicide prevention)
  • Sons and Daughters of Tradition: Culturally based youth development program for elementary and middle school youth.
  • High School Gathering— weekly athletics, movies, games, and weekend trips
  • New Beginnings Coalition—Organizes culturally focused activities for all ages, such as the talent show, New Years Sobriety Pow Wow, and storytelling dinners.
