
Women, Infants & Children (WIC)
WIC is a public health nutrition program serving Oregon families. WIC supports healthy moms, babies, kids, and families. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, postpartum, or have a child under age 5, WIC may be able to help.

Support for Healthy Families
WIC provides support including:
- Benefits to buy healthy foods such as whole grains, milk, fruits, and vegetables
- Help with questions about nutrition, exercise, feeding children, prenatal care, and related topics
- Breastfeeding education and support
- Breast pumps for eligible mothers
- Classes on health, nutrition, and parenting topics
- Information and connections to other community services
- Free health screenings

WIC Eligibility
To receive WIC services, participants must:
- Live in Oregon
- Be pregnant, postpartum, or breastfeeding, or be a child under 5 years old
- Have a nutritional need
- Meet WIC income guidelines
A dad, grandparent, foster parent, or legal guardian of a child under age 5 may also apply on behalf of the child.
People receiving TANF, SNAP, or OHP may also qualify.
Income Guidelines
WIC income guidelines are based on 185% of the federal poverty level.
How Do I Apply?
Contact Yellowhawk WIC
Make an appointment with the local WIC program at Yellowhawk. The WIC team will let you know what you need to bring to your first appointment.
Meet With the WIC Team
During your WIC visit, program staff may:
- Check to see if you qualify
- Check your child's growth
- Talk about your family's health and nutrition needs
- Answer questions about WIC
- Connect you with other programs and resources
- Provide an eWIC card for approved WIC foods
What Are WIC Foods?
WIC benefits can be used for approved foods including:
- Milk
- Cheese
- Eggs
- Dried beans or peas
- Fruits
- Vegetables
- Baby food
- 100% fruit juice
- Peanut butter
- Cereal
- Whole wheat bread
- Corn tortillas
- Brown rice
- Canned fish
Shopping Is Easy
WIC shopping is made easier with the eWIC card. Participants can purchase WIC-approved foods as they need them, and at most stores WIC purchases do not need to be separated from other groceries.
Just let the cashier know you are using your WIC card or WIC app.
